What the site is
HDZog (hdzog.com and hdzog.tube) belongs to a network of tubes that share the same page structure and the same JW Player. A clip address looks like /videos/<id>/<slug>/. The site also serves an embeddable page at /embed/<id>/, which other sites use to show its clips.
Are subtitles available?
There is no subtitle track on these clips. Lines are created from the audio by the extension.
How to use the extension on this site
- Install the extension and sign in with your license key.
- Open the video page and start playing.
- Pick the subtitle language, then press the subtitle badge on the player.
- Open a clip and press play. The id in the address, for example 3035675, becomes the key.
- A page is accepted as a clip only when three things agree: the video page block in the markup, the canonical link and the structured data of the page.
- In our measurement the film was the element of the JW Player inside the main player block, and its time moved forward during playback. A clip of 480 seconds was used.
- Hover previews are small mp4 files whose names end in _tr.mp4 and last about seven seconds. They are flagged as ads and skipped, and no badge appears on them.
- Files under /static/da/ are advertising. The extension does not hook into them.
- The embed address /embed/<id>/ is recognised too, and it produces the same key as the clip page of the site.
Good to know
- Supported: on real clips (ids 3035675 and 3034251, on hdzog.tube) the key was right and the film was told apart from the previews. This was done with the adapter code run in the live page, not with the full extension and a license, so no subtitle line was seen and the site is not marked verified.
- No pre-roll ad appeared in 24 seconds of playback, so the ad branch of the player was tested on saved pages only.
- We did not measure what happens after clicking a related clip on this site. We assume it reloads the page, as it does on the sister sites.
Subtitle languages
Choose the target language in the extension: Vietnamese, Indonesian, Spanish and English are the main ones, and the translation API also supports Chinese, Korean, Thai, Portuguese, Japanese, Russian, French, German, Hindi, Arabic and Turkish.
FAQ
Are hdzog.com and hdzog.tube the same?
Both are listed in the adapter and use the same layout, so the same clip gets the same key.
What is the _tr.mp4 file?
It is a hover preview of about seven seconds. The adapter marks it as a preview and skips it.
Why Supported and not Verified?
We locked the title and followed the film on real pages, but we did not run the whole extension with a license and see a subtitle line.
What about clips embedded in other sites?
When another site shows an HDZog clip in a frame, the HDZog adapter takes over in that frame, and the key is the one of the HDZog clip.
Does the extension keep the video?
No. It only draws subtitles over the player.
