What the site is
Pornhub is one of the largest international video sites. Videos are identified by a key in the address (view_video.php?viewkey=…) or in the embed address. The key is thirteen hexadecimal characters, and a few older videos have the same key with a ph prefix. The site also serves language versions on subdomains such as de. and jp., which show the same key for the same video.
Are subtitles available?
Uploads mostly have no subtitle track you can use. The extension generates subtitles from the audio.
How to use the extension on this site
- Install the extension and sign in with your license key.
- Open the video page and start playing.
- Pick the subtitle language, then press the subtitle badge on the player.
- Open the video page and press play in the player. The extension recognises the video by its viewkey and never attaches to the ad frames on the page.
- The embed form (/embed/<key>) is recognised the same way.
- Domains pornhub.com and pornhub.org are covered.
- The site shows an age confirmation page on first visit. Confirm it yourself in the normal way; the extension never clicks it for you.
- The adapter compares the key in the address with the key in the page data. A mismatch, or a key in an unfamiliar format, makes it return nothing so a wrong video is never labelled.
- The player on this site is the same engine used across several related sites. A short clip can play inside the film player before the real video begins, and the adapter treats a clip that is under a minute while the page declares a film of two minutes or more as that kind of advertisement.
- Once the real video plays in the main player, the badge appears and subtitle lines show over the picture.
Good to know
- Supported, not verified: in the 2026-10-22 test the viewkey was locked correctly, but the player did not start under our automated browser, so no subtitle job ran. This is a test limitation, not a confirmed fault.
- Language subdomains such as de.pornhub.com and jp.pornhub.com were measured and give the same key as the main domain. Other subdomains are accepted by the address check but have not each been tested.
- Embedded players depend on the embedding page. When the site shows the message that a video cannot be viewed here, there is no player to attach to, and nothing can be done from the extension.
Subtitle languages
Choose the target language in the extension: Vietnamese, Indonesian, Spanish and English are the main ones, and the translation API also supports Chinese, Korean, Thai, Portuguese, Japanese, Russian, French, German, Hindi, Arabic and Turkish.
FAQ
Has it been proven to work on Pornhub?
The video is recognised correctly, but we could not get the player to play in our automated test, so it is not marked verified.
Do I need to do anything about the ads?
No. Ad frames are ignored.
Does it download videos?
No. It only adds subtitles on top of the player.
Will it work on the language versions such as de.pornhub.com?
Those subdomains were checked and use the same video key as the main site, so the video is recognised on them too. The site may redirect between versions depending on your location.
Why is no badge shown during the first seconds of playback?
A short clip can run first in the same player. The extension waits and does not label it, so the badge only appears for the real video.
What if I open a video in someone else's embedded player?
Embed addresses are recognised, but the embedding page decides whether the player runs at all. If the player does not start, the extension has nothing to follow.
Which language can I choose?
Any target the translation service supports, for example English, Spanish, Indonesian or Vietnamese. Changing the language later re-translates the same video.
