What the site is
18AV (18av.mm-cg.com) is a Japanese adult-video site organised by categories, with a numbered address for each title in the form category, number and a slug ending in .html. It is the only host the adapter knows: the parent forum www.mm-cg.com and the sister comics site 18h.mm-cg.com are different sites and are not covered. The video plays in a frame that belongs to the same site, so the page holding the player and the player itself share one origin.
Are subtitles available?
The site does not offer a subtitle track you can switch to English. The extension provides the subtitles itself, generated from the audio of the video you play, in the target language you pick in its popup. Nothing is read from the site, so a title with no subtitles at all is treated exactly like any other.
How to use the extension on this site
- Install the extension and sign in with your license key.
- Open the video page and start playing.
- Pick the subtitle language, then press the subtitle badge on the player.
- Open the title page and press play inside the player. The player is a frame on the same site, loaded from the path /js/player/play.php, and the extension reads the title from the page that holds this frame so the subtitles belong to the right film.
- Ad frames around the player (for example banner networks) and the cover or Skip Ad overlay shown on top of the player are ignored and never get a subtitle badge. Only the real player does.
- Hover previews in the list and related blocks are short looping clips, not films, so they are skipped as well.
- When the address contains a product code that matches the page title, the extension uses that code; if the page title also names a performer or ends with the 18AV brand text, the code is still taken from the address and the brand suffix is cut before the check, so a performer name followed by a number is not mistaken for a second code.
- The player token in the frame address changes on every load, so it is never used to identify the film; the category-and-number id of the page is used instead.
- To change title, open the next page; 18AV reloads the page and the extension starts fresh for the new film.
Good to know
- Verified on 2026-10-22: subtitles appeared on JSOP-044 and FNS-166.
- Titles with several parts (CD1 and CD2 buttons on the same address) are treated carefully: if the extension cannot tell which part plays, it falls back to the generic method instead of guessing.
- If the page is opened from a different origin than the player frame, the page cannot be read from inside the frame; the generic method takes over and subtitles still work, only the shared-title lookup is skipped.
Subtitle languages
Choose the target language in the extension: Vietnamese, Indonesian, Spanish and English are the main ones, and the translation API also supports Chinese, Korean, Thai, Portuguese, Japanese, Russian, French, German, Hindi, Arabic and Turkish.
FAQ
Can I get English subtitles on 18AV?
Yes, choose English as the target language and press the subtitle badge on the player. Subtitles are generated from the audio.
Why is there no badge on the banner video?
Banners and ad frames are skipped on purpose. The badge shows on the main player only.
Do the subtitles keep up if I seek forward?
The subtitles are generated in segments as the audio becomes available; if you jump ahead, the later part may take a moment to appear.
Does 18AV have mirror domains the extension supports?
Only 18av.mm-cg.com was measured and is listed. No other mirror was found, so none is guessed. A new domain would first use the generic detector.
Why does a title with CD1 and CD2 sometimes not get a shared subtitle?
The page address stays the same while the frame changes between parts. Because the extension cannot be sure which part is on screen, it does not pool subtitles for that title and works from the audio of what you actually play.
Does the extension skip the Skip Ad overlay for me?
No. It only avoids creating subtitles for the ad frames. Skipping or closing the overlay is up to you.
