What the site is

MissAV is a large Japanese adult-video streaming site. It runs on many domains (missav.ws, missav.ai, missav.com and numbered mirrors) and the player sits directly in the watch page, not in a frame. Every title has its own address made of a product-style slug, for example a studio prefix followed by a number. Addresses can also start with a language segment such as /en/ or /vi/, or with a numbered prefix like /dm12/ that the site uses to get around blocks. The extension strips both before it works out which film you are on.

Are subtitles available?

Subtitle availability on MissAV varies by title and language, and quality varies too. Some releases are published as separate pages whose slug ends in english-subtitle or chinese-subtitle, while the plain page may have none. The extension does not depend on that: it creates subtitles from the audio and shows them over the player.

How to use the extension on this site

  1. Install the extension and sign in with your license key.
  2. Open the video page and start playing.
  3. Pick the subtitle language, then press the subtitle badge on the player.
  • Open the watch page and press play. The player is part of the page itself, so the extension attaches to it directly.
  • The extension recognises a title by its address. Variant releases (leak, subbed and similar) count as separate titles, so each keeps its own subtitles.
  • Preview clips, live widgets and other video elements on the page are treated as non-film and get no subtitle badge.
  • Language prefixes and mirror domains in the address are handled; on mirrors the title is tracked by the page address.
  • Before trusting the address, the adapter compares it with the page's canonical link and, when the page shows a product-number line, with that number too. If they disagree it does nothing rather than risk attaching subtitles to the wrong film.
  • Hovering a thumbnail in a recommendation list starts a small preview player. These previews are recognised by their class or id and are ignored, so moving the mouse around never starts a subtitle job.
  • Every frame embedded in a MissAV page is treated as advertising. The film never plays in a frame here, so the extension only looks at the main page.

Good to know

  • Beta: MissAV is behind Cloudflare checks and our automated test could not open it on 2026-10-22. The adapter exists and is unit-tested; the project owner is testing it by hand.
  • Hosts known to the adapter: missav.com, missav.ws, missav.ai, missav.live, missav123.com, missav789.com, missav01.com and missav888.com. A mirror that is not on this list is not guaranteed to be recognised.
  • Pages with a single short path segment, such as category or search pages, are not treated as films, so no badge appears there.
  • A product-code key is only used on the main domains and only for the plain release. Leak and subbed variants always use the page slug, which keeps their subtitles apart from the normal version.

Subtitle languages

Choose the target language in the extension: Vietnamese, Indonesian, Spanish and English are the main ones, and the translation API also supports Chinese, Korean, Thai, Portuguese, Japanese, Russian, French, German, Hindi, Arabic and Turkish.

FAQ

Does MissAV have English subtitles?

It depends on the title; some are labelled as subbed. With the extension you get English subtitles generated from the audio on any title that plays.

Does it work on mirror domains?

Several mirrors are in the adapter (for example missav.ws, missav.ai, missav.live and numbered domains). New mirrors may fall back to the generic detector.

Is MissAV fully verified?

Not yet. It is marked beta until a real test shows subtitles on the page.

Why do the leak and subbed versions have separate subtitles?

On MissAV each release is its own page with its own slug, and the cuts can differ in length and content. Keeping one subtitle track per slug stops a track made for one cut from being shown on another.

Will hovering over thumbnails use up my subtitle quota?

No. The small hover previews are detected as non-film video and never start a job. Only the main player on a recognised watch page can.

Which language should I choose for MissAV?

Pick the language you read best. The audio is Japanese in most titles, and the extension translates it into English, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Spanish or any other target the translation service offers.

The page loads but I see no subtitle badge. What should I check?

Make sure you are on a single watch page rather than a list, that the film itself has started, and that the address is on one of the supported domains. If it still does not appear, send a report from the extension or the report page with the address of the title.

Install the extension

Install once, then open any supported page. Subtitles appear over the player you are already watching.

Dedicated site adapters are part of the full build; the Store build uses the generic video detector.
