Erome subtitles in your language

Erome is a user-upload site where people share albums of photos and videos, so voices in any language can turn up, from English and Spanish to Japanese and Portuguese. There are no captions. The extension transcribes the speech of the video you are playing and shows a translation in your chosen language over the video.

What the site is

Erome (erome.com) organises uploads into albums with addresses like /a/{id}, where the id is eight letters and digits. One album can contain several videos, each with its own player on the page, plus a hidden copy used by the gallery viewer. Video files are served from Erome's own media servers. The site also runs language subdomains such as jp. and de.; they use the same album addresses. There is no embed version of an album.

Are subtitles available?

Erome provides no subtitles. Uploads are personal recordings with varying sound quality, so the generated subtitles depend a lot on how clearly people speak.

How to use the extension on this site

  1. Install the extension and sign in with your license key.
  2. Open the video page and start playing.
  3. Pick the subtitle language, then press the subtitle badge on the player.
  • Open an album and press play on the video you want.
  • Because an album can hold several videos, the album id alone is not enough. The extension identifies each video by the album id plus the video id taken from the file address of that video element, so two videos in one album get separate subtitles.
  • The visible player and the hidden gallery copy of the same video load the same file and are recognised as the same video.
  • When one video in the album is playing, the paused ones are left alone. This keeps the extension on the video you actually started.
  • Some albums show a VAST ad on the first video. While the player is in its ad state, or the source is not on an Erome server, the video is treated as an ad.
  • Videos on Erome loop when they reach the end. That is normal site behaviour and is not mistaken for an ad.

Good to know

  • Verified: subtitles appeared on a real title during our test on 2026-10-24.
  • A video is only identified once it has a source. If the site has not started loading a video yet, the extension waits until you press play.
  • Opening another album loads a new page and starts fresh.

Subtitle languages

Choose the target language in the extension: Vietnamese, Indonesian, Spanish and English are the main ones, and the translation API also supports Chinese, Korean, Thai, Portuguese, Japanese, Russian, French, German, Hindi, Arabic and Turkish.

FAQ

Can I get subtitles for every video in an album?

Yes. Each video is tracked separately. Play the one you want and it gets its own subtitles; play another and that one is handled on its own too.

Which languages can I read Erome videos in?

English, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, Japanese, Vietnamese and the other targets offered by the translation service.

Why are there no subtitles on a short clip?

Many Erome uploads are brief or have little speech. If there is hardly anything said, there is hardly anything to translate.

Do language versions such as jp.erome.com work?

Yes. They show the same albums at the same addresses, and the videos come from the same media servers.

What about the photos in an album?

The extension only works with video. Photos are left untouched.

Why did the badge not appear on a paused video lower in the album?

When another video in the album is already playing, paused videos are not picked up. Pause the first one and play the next to switch.

Install the extension

Install once, then open any supported page. Subtitles appear over the player you are already watching.

Dedicated site adapters are part of the full build; the Store build uses the generic video detector.
