Chrome for Android does not support extensions. Lemur Browser does and can load a ZIP file. Mobile support is experimental: some sites or players may not get subtitles.
Install Lemur Browser
Install “Lemur Browser” from Google Play and open it.
Download the ZIP in Lemur
In Lemur, open miraisub.com, go to this page and tap the download button. Keep the file in Downloads; you do not need to extract it on Android.
Open Extensions
Tap the ⋮ menu and choose “Extensions”.
Turn on Developer mode
On the extensions page switch on “Developer mode”.
Load the ZIP file
Tap “+ (from .zip/.crx/.user.js)”, pick subapp-private.zip from Downloads and confirm. Button names can differ slightly between Lemur versions.
Use MiraiSub
Open a video page, tap ⋮ → Extensions → MiraiSub to sign in or enter your key, then play the video.
If the extension does not install or no subtitles appear, use a computer for now; we are still testing phones. You can tell us your phone and browser through the report form. →
iPhone and iPad are not supported yet
iOS only allows extensions installed from the App Store, so the ZIP file cannot be installed there. Please use a computer (Windows, macOS or Linux) or an Android phone.
Updating to a new version
- Download the new ZIP from this page.
- Extract it and replace the contents of your old subapp-private folder (same place).
- Open the extensions page and click the reload ↻ icon on the MiraiSub card. Your sign-in and settings are kept.
Common problems
“Manifest file is missing or unreadable”
You picked the wrong folder or the ZIP file itself. Choose the folder that directly contains manifest.json; if it is nested, open it one level deeper.
The browser shows a warning about developer mode extensions
That is normal for any extension loaded from a folder. Close the message; MiraiSub keeps working.
MiraiSub disappeared after I deleted or moved the folder
The browser reads the extension from that folder. Put the folder back (or extract the ZIP again) and load it once more.
I don’t see “Load unpacked”
Developer mode is still off. Turn it on, then the button appears.
